For those of you who think I have

fallen off the edge of this planet,... it's not true.

I am still around and I have a new secret weapon that

may get my lazy owner to get motivated to start blogging again!

We got a video camera!!! Yea~~~h!!!

This is me getting peices of apple. I usually don't like the

sound of people chewing, it really annoys me,

but for some reason my owner thinks the sound of my chewing

is irresistibly cute.

My buddy Maddy was up in Nojiri with us for about a month.

At first, I wasn't so sure about having my only-child,

all the attention belongs to me, life disrupted by crazy Maddy,

but I enjoyed her company and we got along great.

We didn't always sleep together like this, but when we had to stay at home together

we always stayed a close and comfortable distance, keeping each other company.

I guess having sibilings is not so bad,

although I honestly would rather not share the attention (and food...)

Hope to have Maddy with us again sometime though!

Many of you are probably wondering what happened to me,
its been so long since my last update.
Have my parents abandoned me?
Have I dropped off the face of the earth?
No, it really just come down to the fact that I have a lazy owner.
I am actually doing great!
Sleeping a lot as usual, but also enjoying the spring weather.
I love my new family members and get a lot of attention.
Actually, in order help my skin problem,
my owner decided to cut out all artificial chemicals from my diet,
and cooks my food from scratch twice a day.
I didnt have so much interest in food before, but now
I get bowled chicken or pork, with potatoes or tofu,
and lots of veggies too. I eat it up so quickly, its like I am a different dog.
I even wake up my owner in the morning to get her to cook for me.
(She hates that, by the way)
So, I am living a pretty good life. ;)
My owner started a new blog about building a cabin.

Went on an outing to a park in Tokyo (Showa Kinen Koen).
There were many people and dogs there
to see the autumn flowers.
Mostly a flower called Mexican aster (cosmos in Japanese)
that Mimi-chan and I are posing next to in the pics above.

There are pictures of the summer fireworks and summer flowers
that my owner was too lazy to share earlier, so take a look if you have time.
It's a nice time in Japan right now.
Nice tempuratures, and good food.
Good food especially since my owner is now hand-cooking all my food.
She is hoping it will help with the skin allergies that I have.
So far, my skin seems to be doing better and my fur is softer
so I think she should keep it up.
(especially since freshly cooked food is so much tastier than dog food!)

I got my hair cut by a professional for the first time.
Usually my owner cuts it, but all the dogs here
are so fancy and fashionable,
I thought I would give it a try.
I cut it short so I can cool down a bit in this heat.
Isn't the ribbon on my ear so cute?!
Noone will mistake me as a male now!
My mom thinks I look like a rice cake or mozarella cheese.
Either way, I look quite yummy I guess.
It might be the last time I get my hair cut professionally;
it cost my owners $60!
That's 3 times what my owner pays for her own hair cut!
Honestly, I would prefer some nice quality chicken treats :)

hello----
long time no see.
It is so hot in Japan, I am melting.
I can barely move, nonetheless keep my toungue out of my mouth.
(actually, I am doing really well
in an air conditioned room all day. It's mostly my owner thats complaining.)
If this weather is not a sign of global warming, I don't know what is.
It would be nice to go to the beach, but there is a jellyfish outbreak
so noone is allowed to swim. :p
I guess I will just have to stay indoors and steal bits of
icecream from my owners.

チャウの写真じゃないけど、
飼い主たちが最近ハワイに行って、
結構かっこいいクジラの写真撮ってきたから、アップするね。
ハワイでは毎日のようにクジラが見えたんだって。
チャウの何倍ぐらいの大きさなんだろう・・・
写真に写ってるのはまだ赤ちゃん・子供ぐらいなんだって。
すごい迫力！
Although its not a picture of me,
my parents went to Hawaii recently
and took a pretty neat picture of a breaching whale.
They said they saw whales almost everyday!!
I wonder how my Chows it would take to be as big as this whale.
This is supposedly a baby/child whale.
Soooo cool.

今日もパパさんチェアでごろり。

チャウのマブダチ、Maddyちゃんです。
うちで遊び疲れて、ソファーで寝ちゃいました。
ナイスフィットしてますね。
Maddyは足が大きいから、きっとチャウの１０倍の
大きさになるんだろうなー。
今はMaddyにパンチされると、
チャウはすごい勢いで切れます。
でも尻尾も振ってるから、本当は怒ってるというより、
後輩を躾けている感じかも。

This is my buddy, Maddy.
She is a Golden Retriever puppy,
who has huge feet! She will probably become
ten times my size soon!
We love to hang out, but when Maddy tries to punch me,
I get really pissed off.
But then, my tail is wagging, so maybe I am
just teaching the youngster some manners.

猫トモのベールちゃんが来てた時の写真。
すっかり仲良くなって、気づいたら
隣同士で寝てたこともあったよ。
私達のおかげで飼い主が寝る場所が余計になくなったけどね。

あとでしばらく口に戻らなくなって
大変なの。
Sleeping with my tongue out like this
causes it to dry up,
and then I can't get it back in my mouth for a while.
Apparently, its really funny,
cause my owners have a blast seeing my struggle.

この前家が預かった猫のVaelちゃん。
チャウは猫大好きだけど、Vaelちゃんは
他の動物とほとんど接触したことないから
どうなるかと思った。
この週末、家には犬、猫と、ネズミ、全部そろっちゃった！
This is Vael.
We took care of her for some friends last weekend.
I love cats, but it was the first time for Vael to live with a dog
so we didn't know what would happen.
This weekend, we had a dog, cat and rodent all under one roof!!

最初の日はソファーの下から出てこず、
チャウが近づくと"シャー！"と怒られたけど、
二日目から、慣れてくれたみたいで、近づいても
ぜんぜん平気になったよ。遊んではくれないけど・・・
この写真は中間ぐらいの時、まだある程度距離を置かれてます。
チャウも我慢してて偉いでしょ？
For the first day, Vael would not come out from under the sofa,
and if I went near her, she hissed really loud.
But from the second day, she got used to me and I to her and we
got along just fine (although she still didnt want to play with me).
This picture is at about the mid-point of developing our
relationship, he was fine as long as I kept my distance.
See how well behaved I am, even though my whole body
is shaking with the urge to sniff his buttom!!

最近ちょっと足や肌にかゆいかゆいができて、
こんなものを付けられた。
以外と嫌じゃないのは何故だろう？
たまに耳をかこうとすると、ガッガッガッガって
プラスチックにあたる音だけして、ちょっと不満はあるけど。
でもおかげでチャウのかゆいかゆいが随分よくなったよ。
Since my skin is a little irritated lately,
they put on this silly head cover thingi...
Actually, I don't hate it as much as I thought I would.
Except when I try to scratch my ear,
it makes an annoying 'thump thump thump' noise
and I get no satisfaction what so ever.

キャンプに行ってきました。
いつも真っ白なチャウが茶色くなっちゃいました。
いっぱい泳いで、遊んで、もうクタクタ。
この夜、熊が出たけど、チャウは気付かず、
ずーと寝てた。野生本能ゼロ。

We went camping and we swan and hiked
and boy, was I pooped.
My famous white fur turned all brown,
and even when a bear attacked our campsite,
I was so tired I didn't even notice.
So much for my natural instincts.

チャウもまだちっちゃい！
でも昔の方が犬っぽい表情してるね。

We found an old picture of me.
This was taken shortly after I was adopted by my current owners
about 6 years ago.
I am still not full grown, so am pretty small.
I think I looked more like a dog back then.
Now, I take after my goofy owners and smile more. :)

今日はハロウィンだったよ。
パーティに行ったんだけど、みんな面白い格好してた。
チャウはミニ悪魔の洋服買ってもらったけど、ちょっと小さくって嫌だった。
うちのママとパパがパンプッキン作ったよ。
パパのはフクロウで、ママのはハードゲイパンプキン。
なかなかのいい出来だね。

１，０００ピースでちょー難しかったらしい。
今日はチャウの話より、ママの自慢話だね。はは。
これでやっとコタツの上が使えるようになって、パパも大喜び。
My mom finally finished her Pooh puzzle!
It was 1,000 pcs and super hard (or so she says).
It only took her about 3 months.
We can finally use the table top now!!

この前お風呂に入ったばかりなのに、
気持ち悪くなって、吐いちゃった。
おかげで飼い主に臭い、臭い言われて、またお風呂に入れられちゃうかも。
今はパパに抱っこしてもらって、ちょっと甘えちゃお。
After a bath just a couple of days ago,
I felt a little sick and threw up...
Now my owner says I stink, so I might have to take another bath.
Right now, I am just going to have my daddy hold me till I feel better.

今週末はヨセミテに行ってきたよ。
空気も水も景色も綺麗で生き返った感じ。

We went to Yosemite this weekend.
The air and water and scenery were all clear and beautiful.

It is a Japanese style table with a heater under the table top.
It's super cozy and warm and I am sooooo happy!
Now, leave me alone, I am going to enjoy my nap here under the warm table.

お父さんがBeanBagを買ってきた。
これがまた楽しいんだよね。
パフンパフンとBeanBagの上ではしゃぎまくり。
おかげで黒いBeanBagがチャウ毛だらけ。
今年のチャウの目標：このBeanBagを白くする事。
いっぱいいっぱいゴロンゴロンすれば、いけるよね！
My dad brought home a beanbag.
You have no idea how fun it is to play on that thing.
Its just so soft and makes noises when I move.
Now the black bean bag is turning white with my fur.
Let's see if I can get it all white before the end of this year!

紹介が遅れたけど、家のもう一人の住人のテトさんです。
世界一柔らかい毛をもってるんだ。
好きなものはレイズンと砂浴び。
チャウは一緒に遊ぶの好きだけど、テトさんはあんまり好きじゃないみたい。
たまにしつこく近づくと怒られるちゃう。
チャウもよく鼻水かけてるから、毛並みを気にしてるテトさんに嫌われてもしかたないかな。
This is my other roommate, Teto.
He is a chinchilla, and they have the softest fur in the world.
He likes raisins and sand baths.
I like playing with him, but I don't think the feeling is mutual.
Especially since I accidently spray snot on him all the time,
I think he is annoyed after taking such good care of his fur that I spoil it.

今日は秋を感じさせる、とても風の強い日だった。
チャウは普段は秋が大好き。柔らかくってカラカラの落ち葉の上を
ぴょんぴょん飛べまわって遊ぶのがちょー楽しい。
しかし、CAの葉っぱは柔らかいどころか、トゲトゲ。
地面がちくちくして痛いのなんの。
こんな上歩けないので、抱っこしてもらうまで、座り込みです。
Today was a very windy autumn day.
I usually love autumn. I love playing in the soft, dry fallen leaves.
Jumping around and hearing them crackle beneath my feet.
In CA, however, there is no such soft leaves.
My apartment is surrounded by hard and thorny leaves,
that poke my paws when I walk.
I cannot walk on such thorny paths,
so I sat in protest until my owner carried me home.

今お泊りに来ている、友達のLunaちゃん。体は大きいのに、足の長さはチャウと一緒。でもなかなか足は速くって、キャッチボールとかすると、かなわない。どーせチャウはボールが口に入らないんだけどね。毎日飼い主の愛情の取り合いしてるけど、一緒に遊んだり、お留守番も一人じゃないから、楽しいのさ。
This is my friend Luna who is staying with us now. She is about twice my size, but her legs are the same length as me! But she still runs fast, and I can hardly keep up when we play catch. Not that any ball (other than a golf ball) really fits in my mouth.... Although we have to fight for who gets my parents attention everyday, it's nice to have someone to play with (as long as she understand who is boss here, hehem.)

この前キャンプ行った時の写真。暑くって、虫も多くって、チャウはもう死ぬかと思ったよ。誰かこのノリノリの弟を止めてくれ。こっちはクタクタなのだ。

Me at St Joseph's campground. It was so hot and the bugs were attacking me from all corners, I thought I would die. I can't move another muscle. Someone tell my little bro to calm down, I am trying to get some rest here....

どーも、ご無沙汰。チャウです。
超多忙なちゃうはブログを更新する時間もないんです。
飼い主の家族が遊びに来たっていうんで、極上のサービスでもてなしてあげたんだけど、その結果がこれ→
帰りの車の中で爆睡しちゃったよ。
あーあ、人気者は辛いな。
でもお客さんがいっぱい来たから、ご飯のおかずいっぱい貰えて良かったな～。いつもお客さんがいればいいのに・・ちょっとおねだりしたらチャウの可愛さにすぐ負けてくれるんだからね。
まぁ～飼い主は怒ってるけど、そんなのチャウの知った事じゃないもんね！

どーも。チャウです。最近は飼い主が新しい仕事をはじめて、毎日帰りが遅いのだ。噂によれば、犬を連れって行ってもいい会社らしいんだけど、まだ連れて行ってもらってない。飼い主が遠慮でもしているのだろうか。さっさと連れて行ってもらいたいものだ。新しい仕事ではご飯もただでもらっているみたい。毎晩おいしそうな匂いのするご飯を持って帰ってきている。必死にもらおうとしても、なかなか分けてくれない。飼い主もただ飯だからと言って、太らないように気をつけるべきだね。お留守番は暇だなー・・・
